Welcome to AdvoKit 1.0.0!

What you see and what you are able to do after you log into Advokit depends on the jobs you have been assigned in the campaign. In this demonstration of an imaginary campaign to reelect a state assembly member in Massachusetts, the person who occupies the Campaign Leader job is named "Chief Kahuna" (username 'chief'; password 'advokit'), and he has privileges that allow him to manage the entire campaign organization, as well as to "look over the shoulder" of any other Leader job, and to assume the work of any Activist job. Other leaders have similar privileges, but only over their team or branch of the organization. There are two main types of Activist jobs those that contact voters, and those who respond to requests from the "field" to do things like send out mail, or conduct followup calls. In this demonstration, we have organized voter contact work in the "Field Operation" and task response work in the "Office Operation". Activists only have access to the tools to do their job: a voter contact activist can search the voter database, create voter contact lists and record the results of those contacts; while someone charged with responding to tasks will be able to browse and manage a list of tasks.

A person may have more than one job in a campaign! For this demonstration, we have given one user - "Mary Stuba" - two different jobs. After you log in, to change jobs, you can click on the job title under the "My Jobs" banner on the left side of the page.

Here is a list of logins for users, along with a brief description of their role in this imaginary campaign. Of course in a real campaign, there would be dozens or hundreds of users, each with a role to play!

For help on a particular page, look for the information button in the upper-right corner of the page (as shown at left).

The database that this demonstration of Advokit is running on is automatically refreshed each night. Therefore, you should not expect any changes you make to last to the next day. On the other hand, if you really mess things up, that's OK!

Have fun!
